How It All Works.

When you’re already struggling to adapt your marketing strategy to growth, it only takes a stiff breeze to blow you over. (Check out our Clients page to catch our meaning.) We call this the inflection point, and it’s where we come in.

Whether it’s backfilling roles, rolling out a new acquisition channel, or just trying to hit a new type of customer, we’ll support you through the chaos that change brings. Our typical engagement lasts at least 3 months, but we’ve worked with clients for more than a year to handle the big boys like data literacy.

Regardless of how long we work together—time is, after all, a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff—our typical engagement flow follows the same general pattern (customized to your specific needs, of course).

How’s the rapport?

What we don’t want is a failure to communicate. That’s why all of our engagements start with a Seesaw Call (the more traditional, boring term you might know is a Discovery Call—snooze). The Seesaw Call is our first virtual meeting to see: one, what your needs are; two, if we can meet those needs; and three, if we vibe. Like kids on a seesaw, we want to see if, together, we are balanced perfectly in the middle.

If we can help you with your problem and if the vibes are good (to both of us), we move our pieces to the next space on the board.

Digging for data.

This is where we stick out our greedy hands to get all the data we can take from you. All engagements with us come with some level of audit—it could include digging through analytics accounts, interviewing team members, evaluating existing MarTech, reviewing dashboard, etc. (To get more in the weeds of what this entails, check out our Services page.)

When it comes to tools, while 80% of any given platform is used the same by everyone, 20% is specific to YOU—and that 20% makes a huge difference. By doing the audit upfront, we can spot the iceberg and avoid hitting it. In essence, we can spot quirks, avoid surprises, and keep the budget in line. (And who doesn’t want to avoid unexpected increases to the budget?)

Depending on how many platforms you use, the size of your company, and the size of your team, an audit is generally completed within two to three weeks. At the end of the audit, you’ll get a high-level deliverable stuffed like a Thanksgiving turkey full of our key takeaways, recommendations, and suggestions for next steps.

With the audit in hand, you are now faced with a choice: take the red pill or the blue pill—or no pill at all.

Audit only

For some clients, the recommendations and first steps in the audit are all they need to hit the ground running themselves, especially if they have an existing team that can handle it. If this is you, fantastic! We wish you luck on your journey. (And you know where to find us if you happen to find you’ve bitten off more than you can chew.)

Implementation

If you’re already up the creek without a paddle, don’t worry. We’re up there waiting for you, paddle in hand. Implementation is generally a medium-length project, usually a few months, depending on what’s needed. We’ll sit down with you before we start to create a clear set of deliverables and then get to work, keeping you up-to-date on our progress along the way.

Ongoing support

Audit reveal a dumpster fire trying to pretend that “This is fine”? Don’t panic; we’ve got a towel for you. Ongoing support is just what it sounds like: a monthly retainer for an ongoing relationship. You get continual access to our team and insights as you tackle broader issues.

If you’re facing big changes (team reorganization, shifting business models, new product releases, complete tech stack rehaul), this is what you need.

We’ll be back.

If you fall somewhere between Implementation and Ongoing Support, we understand. You like the firm boundaries of a single project, but you have several projects you need to get done. What’s a girl to do? Tackle projects one at a time, of course.

We’ve had several clients come back to us several times over multiple years. We’ve found companies that have lean teams or are bootstrapped, who still need expertise but not a full-time role, love this offering. Come back after each major milestone, like launching a new product or entering a new market, for a new audit and finetuning. Or, bring us back on as temporary support for help with strategy and execution when you don’t want to deal with the back and forth of standard contractors.

Ask and ye shall receive... answers.
